As an Ann Arbor-dwelling Michigander for a little over three years now, I am a loyal and frequent visitor to the Ann Arbor Farmers Market. It’s one of the best ones I’ve ever been to, not to mention it’s right outside of my second home, V2V. This market has it all: a variety of herbs and plants, food carts, and plenty of produce. It’s an easy one stop shopping experience on anyWednesday or Saturday, and there are usually great musicians playing, as well. I highly recommend stopping by if you haven’t yet!

I am so excited to share this editorial shoot that I styled for Pastorale Magazine. Shot by Erin Marie Miller (of course) and modeled by the hauntingly beautiful Madalyn Knebel, these back to school looks are perfect even if you no longer have classes to attend. I still get excited about the start of the new fall season and a new year even though I haven’t been in school for five years. There is something so thrilling about a fresh start. Obviously, new clothes always get me pretty excited, but these looks that I pulled from V2V are taking away any sadness I had about the end of summer. Check out the full September issue and our entire editorial spread here.
Everyone in the North East feels my pain right now. If you don’t, you soon will. (Don’t worry friends and family on the coast, your day will suck tomorrow as much as mine did today!) Just two short days ago, I was sitting at my picnic table outside enjoying a beer with Josh and Laika, wearing a tank top. I was wearing the tank top, not Laika. Anyway, we woke up to snow on the ground this morning. Michigan is weird. New England is also weird. April is weird. It’s been 27 years of this. None of it should be shocking to me at this point, but it still surprises me every time. It’s as if I repress how awful the desperate wait for truly nice weather actually is. April is definitely one of those months when you can be in a sundress one day, and have to break out the boots, cashmere, and jacket the next. At least there are milkshakes and burgers in the world.
